Hazely Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") complements the Terms of Use. It spells out what you may and may not do with Hazely and any content it makes available. Violation of the AUP is a material breach of the Terms and may result in immediate termination of your access.
Language. This policy is published in English only. No other language version of it exists, so none can prevail over this one. The only Hazely document currently published in Dutch is the Privacy Policy, at hazely.nl/privacybeleid.
1. What you may do
- Use the App for your own personal, non-commercial reference while planning a trip to, or visiting, the Netherlands.
- Navigate to publicly-listed coffeeshop addresses.
- Read educational strain information for your own understanding.
- Take a photo of a physical menu with the consent of the shop staff when present, and submit it for AI text extraction for your own use.
- Provide bug reports, feedback, or feature requests.
2. What you may NOT do
2.1 Commerce and intermediation
- Place orders, reserve products, or pay for cannabis on behalf of yourself or any third party via the App.
- Use Hazely as a sales channel, marketplace, or marketing channel for any specific coffeeshop or product.
- Operate any commercial side-service that sells access to Hazely data (resale, repackaging, redistribution).
2.2 Data extraction
- Scrape, crawl, mirror, bulk-download, or otherwise extract data from the App, our API, or the hazely.nl website by any automated means.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or proprietary algorithms.
- Use a tool that automates requests in volumes inconsistent with normal individual use.
- Use the App's API from any unauthorised client.
2.3 Cross-border and illegality
- Use the App to plan, facilitate, or carry out cross-border transport of cannabis or any other controlled substance.
- Use the App to facilitate any activity that is illegal under Dutch law, EU law, or the law of your current location or country of residence.
- Use the App while operating a motor vehicle, bicycle, scooter, or any other vehicle requiring your full attention.
2.4 Content you submit (UGC)
When you submit a menu photo, you must not include:
- People's faces or other features that identify a person;
- Identity documents, driving licences, passports;
- Vehicle plates;
- Children;
- Anything that infringes a third party's copyright, trademark, or privacy;
- Anything that violates a coffeeshop's house rules (e.g. some shops prohibit photography);
- Anything depicting illegal activity beyond the toleration regime (hard drugs, sale to minors, etc.).
2.5 Misuse of the AI feature
- Submit material that is not a menu (random photos, memes, copyrighted images you don't own).
- Submit content intended to test, jailbreak, or manipulate the AI processor.
- Submit large volumes of photos in rapid succession (rate-limited at the server).
- Use AI-extracted text for downstream commercial use without our written permission.
2.6 Conduct toward us and other users
- Send abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, or unlawful content to our support channels.
- Impersonate Hazely staff, a coffeeshop, or any other person.
- Attempt to bypass the age gate, consent screen, geographic restrictions, rate limits, or any other access control.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without our prior written permission.
- Submit a knowingly false notice of illegal content through our Notice-and-Action procedure — the report form at https://hazely.nl/report.
2.7 Advertising prohibitions specific to NL cannabis law
To preserve compliance with the "A" criterion of the AHOJGI tolerance policy (no advertising of cannabis) — and to protect the App's status as a neutral informational utility — you may not use Hazely or its data to:
- Place paid promotion of any coffeeshop or product;
- Solicit or accept compensation in exchange for favourable ranking or visibility;
- Generate marketing collateral (flyers, websites, social-media posts) that promotes a specific shop using Hazely data and branding.
3. Reporting violations
If you believe another user, or content within the App, violates this AUP or any applicable law:
- For illegal content (CSAM, hard-drug sales, threats, etc.): use the report form at https://hazely.nl/report — it asks where the content is, why you consider it illegal, an optional email address for the outcome, and a good-faith confirmation that your report is accurate — or email abuse@hazely.nl.
- For non-illegal but policy-violating content: email support@hazely.nl.
How illegal-content reports are handled — manual review by the operator, action without undue delay — is described in our Notice-and-Action procedure, which is aligned with Art. 16 of the EU Digital Services Act.
4. Consequences of violation
We may, in our reasonable discretion:
- Remove the offending content;
- Warn you;
- Restrict, suspend, or terminate your access;
- Block your device or IP at the network layer;
- Refer the matter to law enforcement;
- Pursue legal remedies including damages and injunctive relief.
We will tailor the response to the severity and recurrence of the violation, consistent with our DSA obligations.
5. Counter-notice
If we remove your content and you believe the removal was incorrect, tell us via the report form at https://hazely.nl/report or by emailing abuse@hazely.nl. We will review the decision manually and either restore the content or confirm the removal, explaining our reasons — Art. 17 DSA governs the statement of reasons where it applies. It sets no deadline for restoring content, and we will not invent one: we act without undue delay.
6. Changes
We may update this AUP. The Version and Effective Date above always reflect the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Changelog
Version 1.2 — 14 August 2026 (replaces version 1.1 of 21 May 2026)
1. The three references to https://hazely.nl/report now describe the report form that actually exists there — where the content is, the reason, an optional email address, and a good-faith accuracy confirmation — instead of pointing at an address that previously redirected to a pre-addressed email draft (§2.6, §3, §5). 2. §5 no longer cites "timelines set by Art. 17 DSA." Article 17 contains no restoration timeline; it governs statements of reasons, and is now cited only for that. 3. §3 no longer refers to an "internal moderation policy" — no such separate published policy exists. The Notice-and-Action procedure is the document that describes how reports are handled, and §3 now links to it. 4. A language note was added, and this changelog begins with this version.
